Flock or swarm to the museum as we start a new school year- animal style!

We will showcase animals which dwell in huge communities, and those known for their ability to learn new behaviors. You can expect to see primates, parrots, social insects, bighorn sheep horns, pelts, nests, and more. Come learn how and why some species survive through group living and learning, while getting up close and personal with real museum specimens!

Kids' Craft - Make your own beautiful, one of a kind fish print, using an actual fish!

Specimen Preparation - As always, our Collections Manager will be turning dead animals into museum specimens. You can ask questions and get hands-on with his dissections and preparations.

Bee Talk - The Hive Minders, our resident bee club on campus, will be there to talk about bees and their swarming behavior.

Live Animals - Slater Museum's "living dog specimen," Kava, will be on-site with Assistant Professor of Psychology Erin Colbert-White, who will be speaking on animal communication.

This is a free, family-friendly, drop-in event!

Join us September 29th, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the University of Puget Sound Campus (located at 1500 N Warner St, Tacoma, WA 98416) in Thompson Hall room 295.
