Dear Campus Community,
I was informed by Security Services this week that they continue to find white power/supremacy stickers randomly placed in somewhat isolated areas on campus – usually at the base of light poles or on utility boxes. There are about three different versions of the sticker that appeared in single occurrences several days apart. If you observe these stickers, or observe someone placing them, contact Security Services right away. Some examples of these stickers are from “White boys club” depicting a man in a fighting posture; others are from Patriot front.
Security Services is doing daily checks for these stickers around campus. When found, photos are taken of the stickers and location, the stickers are removed, and a report is filed. When a member of the community finds a sticker and they report it to Security Services, an officer is sent out to the location immediately to document the location, remove the sticker, and do a full systematic sweep of the area to check for other stickers.
If you see any of these stickers, please take a photo, note the specific details of the location, and report it immediately to Security Services. I want you to know that Security Services continues to do everything they can to investigate the postings of these stickers, including checking cameras when possible. If a suspect is identified, they will be investigated for potential violations of our policy and may be trespassed from campus.
I will update you with anything new that we learn about this situation, but do not intend to send a campus email for each single occurrence. I ask that you stay vigilant, report stickers if you find them, and help us maintain a welcoming environment at Puget Sound.
