Celebrating the arrival of Fall by exploring how plants and animals adapt to the changing season!

Fall is a wondrous time of year and we notice its arrival in many different ways! You might wonder why some trees drop their leaves, when to expect migrating birds, or how animals and plants prepare for the winter. Join us as we explore these questions and more in our celebration of the changing season!

Specimen preparation- As always, our Collections Manager and skinners will be turning dead animals into museum specimens. Ask questions and get hands-on with his dissections and preparations! Specimen preparation will be in room 297.

Guest speaker- We will have members of HiveMinders, the University of Puget Sound's bee-keeping club, present at the event. They are excited to talk about hive management through fall and winter and to educate about our favorite pollinator friends!

Live animals- Our live animal guest will be Chestnut, a very sweet hog-nose snake! Please come check her out in the front room of the museum.

Kid's craft- Create an autumn leaf window sun-catcher! The kid's craft will be located in room 283.

This is a free, family-friendly, drop-in event.

Join us October 3rd, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the University of Puget Sound Campus (located at 1500 N Warner St, Tacoma, WA 98416) in Thompson Hall room 295.
