Dan Sherman, director of the Sound Policy Institute, has research interests in the areas of environmental science and policy. He is the co-author of a widely used textbook on environmental science and sustainability with W.W. Norton press. He is author of the book Not Here, Not There, Not Anywhere: Local Opposition and the Politics of Low-level Radioactive Waste Disposal as well as many articles on hazardous waste cleanup, citizen activism, and sustainability in higher education. Sherman teaches outdoor experiential learning courses at the nexus of environmental science and policy with special attention to energy, water, pollution, land use and U.S. environmental law.
