Dear Members of the Campus Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you following yet another devastating act of violence in our country.
Our thoughts are with the victims of the horrific mass shooting that took place in Pittsburgh on Saturday—those who lost their lives, as well as their families, their friends, their community, and all who are reeling from the consequences of what has occurred.
I call on all members of our campus community to support fellow students, faculty members, and staff colleagues in the wake of this tragedy, especially those of Jewish faith and heritage. We must speak up in the face of anti-Semitic violence and other acts of bias and hate, and ensure that our campus is the safe, welcoming, and supportive environment to which each of us is entitled.
It is important to come together and offer each other support at times like this. A message will follow about a campus-wide gathering on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, I want to remind you of the following resources that are available:
