Dear Members of the Campus Community,

Thank you for your continued adherence to campus safety protocols, including our vaccination, booster shot, testing and masking requirements. 

With the concerted effort of every member of our community, we continue to see a steep decline in the number of COVID-19 cases. It is truly a joy to be out and about on our campus that is brimming with energy and vitality!

Yesterday, Gov. Jay Inslee announced a plan to ease some of the restrictions currently in place in Washington state. While we await more guidance specific to higher education, we will continue with our current mitigation plans on campus. Please note the following:

REMINDER: Spring Semester Testing Plan

  • Week of Feb. 21: We will continue asymptomatic testing for the entire campus community, Monday–Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Upper Marshall Hall. You are also welcome to drop off tests at other times in the box located across from Wheelock Student Center, Rm. 208. Please drop off your weekly test no later than 3 p.m. on Thursday of each week.
  • Feb. 28 – March 11: We will discontinue testing of the entire campus community and resume weekly randomized testing of 10% of the campus community. You will be notified via email if you are selected for testing.
  • Spring Break (March 12 – 20): If you are traveling for spring break, you are welcome to pick up a free home test kit for use should you become symptomatic or wish to test during the break. A limited number of tests (no more than one per person, and as supplies last) can be picked up in Facilities Services or Security Services.
  • Beginning March 21: We will resume asymptomatic testing of the entire campus community for at least two weeks following spring break. Please plan to submit a PCR saliva test within 3–5 days of returning to campus. 

REMINDER: Wear a KN95, N95 or Surgical/Medical Mask on Campus
We will continue with our current mask policy until further notice. Please note that we recommend KN95, N95 or surgical/medical masks for those who are vaccinated, and require them for those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated. Masks are available for pick up at Facilities Services, Security Services, and outside the Dean of Students Office in Wheelock Student Center.
