This event will feature our collection of over 8,000 reptiles & amphibians – along with live animals from the Tacoma Nature Center! You can expect to see lizards, turtles, salamanders, and snakes! Come learn about the role reptiles and amphibians play in ecosystems, while getting up-close and personal with real museum artifacts.

Kid's Activity - Come invent your own type of salamanders or toads and learn what it takes to be a scientific species! 

Live Animals -  You can expect to see live animals including local toads and exotic snakes! 

Visiting Experts
Dr. Dennis Paulson, prominent regional naturalist and prolific author, will be telling you all about local reptiles and amphibians. Who could you expect to see on a Washington rainforest hike? 

Michelle Tirhi, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife District Biologist, manages Western Pond Turtle reintroduction efforts in the state. She will be presenting on the status of the turtles and WDFW's efforts over the last few decades.
