Summer Housing is a limited on-campus housing option available to students enrolled for the summer term, or participating in one of the below programs.  During the summer months, the majority of residential facilities are occupied and operated through Dining and Event Services. Students participating in the programs listed below are eligible to live on campus during the summer.

Approved Summer Housing Programs

In collaboration with multiple campus partners, Residence Life provides optional Summer Housing for the following approved programs:

  • Dining and Event Services Summer Conference Assistants
  • A select number of newly elected and appointed ASUPS executive board members
  • Students awarded a summer research grant through the Academic Deans Office
  • Students participating in the Summer Immersion Internship Program
  • Summer Housing is available for enrolled Puget Sound summer students

Outside of these approved programs, Summer Housing is not available to students. Space in Summer Housing is limited.

Summer Housing 2025 will be in selected Union Avenue Houses. Each room will have two people assigned to the room.

The rate for Summer Housing 2025 is $715.

  • Summer Housing Application available - April 1, 2025 via the Housing Portal
  • Information Session - April 10, 2025 at 6:00pm in Murray Boardroom, Wheelock 108
  • Summer Housing Sign-Up - April 17, 2027 at 6:00pm in Murray Boardroom, Wheelock 108
  • Summer Move In - May 16, 2025
  • Summer Move Out - August 2, 2025 (If not living on campus Fall semester)
  • Summer "Switch" Move Out - August 8 - 10, 2025 (Moving to Fall room location)

Summer Sublet Connection

We recognize that there is a larger interest in Summer Housing than can be met on campus. To support students locate other housing options for the summer, Residence Life runs the Summer Sublet Connection beginning after Spring Break. Please check your Puget Sound email for more information.

Gap Housing

Some students would like to stay on campus in May after the Residence closure date (May 10 for undergraduate students, May 12 for graduating students). This is referred to as Gap Housing and will be available from May 10 - June 1, 2025.   Residence Life can accommodate you during this time period for a fee; $300 for the time period May 4 - June 1 or $150 for the first week only (May 10 - May 17).  In most cases, if you sign up for the first week only of Gap Housing, you can remain in your Spring housing location - exceptions are in Summer Housing locations. After May 17, Gap Housing will be in Todd/Phibbs Hall and will have two people assigned to each room. Please feel free to apply for Gap Housing if you are interested in this option.
