Express Your Creativity
Music
As one of the few liberal arts colleges in the country with a conservatory-style music program, Puget Sound’s School of Music hosts dozens of recitals and concerts every year. Perform as a soloist or as part of one of our many ensemble groups including the Adelphian Concert Choir, Concert Band, Dorian Singers, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Chorale, Voci d’Amici, and Wind Ensemble; enjoy performances by faculty in the annual Jacobsen Series; or attend a concert featuring one of the many guest artists who come to campus.
Art
Whether your medium is painting, printmaking, sculpture, or ceramics, you’ll discover a wide variety of opportunities to create and share your art. As a student at Puget Sound, you can take a studio art class, where you’ll find inspiration and expert instruction in our metal shop, woodworking studio, welding booth, painting booth, or ceramics building. You can also participate in a student art exhibit or explore the rotating collections of student, faculty, and guest artwork in Kittredge Gallery. Elsewhere on campus, you can enjoy a glass installation by Tacoma native Dale Chihuly in Wyatt Hall and paintings by frontierswoman Abby Williams Hill on display in Jones Hall.
Theatre Arts
Flex your acting muscles or learn the ropes behind the scenes as part of a theatrical performance at Puget Sound. No matter if you prefer to be in the spotlight or in the audience, you can enjoy and participate in two faculty-directed shows, several guest artist-directed performances and special engagements, and many student-run productions such as Directors’ Lab and the Senior Theatre Festival each year. Campus performance venues include the 500-seat Schneebeck Concert Hall, Kilworth Memorial Chapel, Norton Clapp Theatre, and others.
Endowed Lectures and Guest Speakers
Expand your understanding of the arts when you attend an endowed lecture or guest speaker series. Every year, we bring artists, filmmakers, actors, writers, entrepreneurs, and others to campus to share their unique perspectives. Past speakers include Pulitzer Prize and New York Times Bestselling author Junot Diaz, filmmaker Spike Lee, The New York Times columnist David Brooks, choreographer Twyla Tharp and Tony Award nominee Phillipa Soo.
Campus Film and Foreign Film Series
Dive into the world of cinema with screenings of recent popular films and lesser known movies from around the world. Puget Sound Campus Films hosts screenings in Rausch Auditorium complete with popcorn for a small fee. The Foreign Film Series is free and hosted throughout the academic year by various student organizations and departments and include thought-provoking selections by Latinx, Japanese, and French filmmakers.

Connect with other students who share your love of the arts as a member of one of Puget Sound’s many arts-specific clubs. Join a dance group, a cappella group, photography club, writing group, Crosscurrents literary magazine staff, the Logger Pep Band, or start your own club!
