Spring 2025

Co-Readers are specially trained tutors who help students read more knowledgeably and fluently in the humanities and social sciences. As more experienced readers in their major and minor fields, they will model for students how to approach different types of readings in different disciplines. As we are piloting this new program this semester, we are offering it in the fields of English, History, Philosophy, Politics & Government, and Sociology & Anthropology.

Co-Reader bios are below. You may also view all tutors’ schedules and make an appointment at WCOnline.

Ainsley, CWL Writing & Speaking Advisor 2024

Χαιρετε! (Hello!) I’m Ainsley, and I’m a Philosophy major with an English minor—but I also have a lot of experience in GQS and GLAM. I’m originally from Memphis, TN, but I now call Tacoma my home. I love all things philosophy, literature, and myth, especially when it relates to social justice and feminist issues. This past summer, I went to Greece and ended up curating a museum dedicated to Ancient Greek women’s lives. I’m a proud member of the Ubiquitous They Sketch Comedy team and love acting in my spare time. In my time here, I want to focus on empathy-based peer mentoring that will not only help your grade, but will help your relationship with writing as a whole. I’m so excited to meet you!

Campbell, CWL Writing & Speaking Advisor 2024

Hey there! My name is Campbell and I am a Sociology and Anthropology major with a minor in Crime, Law, and Justice. I’m from Denver, CO but I love living in Washington!! Outside of studying I’m usually drinking coffee, hiking, climbing, and going to concerts as often as possible. I am a speaking and writing advisor, and I am also a co-reader in SOAN, CLJ, and PG. I’m happy to help brainstorm, edit, or chat through a paper and I can’t wait to meet you all. Swing by!

Charley, 2024 CWL Subject Tutor

Pronouns: they/them

Bonjour! My name is Charley and I’m from Redwood City, California. I’m a sophomore here at UPS, majoring in English and Communications, with a double minor in French and Spanish. I’ve been speaking French since I was five years old! Outside of class, you can find me at Divs, rollerblading on the Slab, or dancing with RDG! I’m here for any French related questions you have! Spelling, grammar, pronunciation, why it’s such a beautiful language, even if you just wanna practice your conversational skills… if it’s French, I got you! I am also a Co-Reader in English.

Emma, 2024 CWL Subject Tutor

Pronouns: she/her

My name is Emma Loenicker. I am a German-American born and raised in Berkeley California. I study politics, history, and German. In the Fall of 2023, I went abroad to Freiburg Germany to immerse myself in German culture and language. As a German heritage speaker, I wanted a chance to study in my second language and it was an incredibly valuable experience. I can be your first point of contact on campus for anything German related. I am also a Co-Reader in Politics and Government, and History! From academic support to cultural curiosity, I am here to help. I look forward to working with all of you.
