TACOMA, Wash. — The University of Puget Sound is pleased to announce a 13% increase in first-time college students, with 58 more students enrolled in the Fall 2023 incoming class compared to the previous year.
"The increase in first-time college students is a testament to the great work of our enrollment division and speaks to the outstanding quality of a Puget Sound education. It reaffirms our commitment to academic excellence and underscores our dedication to student success," said Isiaah Crawford, president of the University of Puget Sound.
In addition to the increase in first-time students, the university continues to be a preferred destination for transfer students. This year, Puget Sound welcomed 42 new undergraduate transfer students, 6% more than the previous year. The university's ability to attract and support transfer students highlights its reputation for providing a seamless transition and a nurturing academic environment.
Diversity remains a key focus at Puget Sound, with the minority student population accounting for 29.8% of the student body. The university takes pride in fostering an inclusive community that celebrates and values diversity.
Despite the challenges faced by higher education institutions, the University of Puget Sound remains optimistic about the future.
