Getting to Know Campus

Meals are served in Wheelock Student Center seven days a week. Foodservice is not available during Thanksgiving or winter holidays, and hours are reduced during spring break.

In addition, The Cellar, a popular student-run pizzeria, and Diversions Cafe are located in Wheelock Student Center and serve food items from midmorning until late evening. Oppenheimer Cafe, in Brown Family Courtyard between Harned and Thompson halls, offers coffees, teas, pastries, salads, and wraps from early morning to midday.

Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services (CHWS) is located on the second floor of Wheelock Student Center and is open Monday through Friday. Health care providers, a physician, a psychiatrist, counselors, and psychologists see students for a variety of medical and emotional concerns.

Mail Services is located in the basement of Wheelock Student Center. The Mail Services window is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and only accepts cash.

Cars are welcome on campus. Students who wish to park a vehicle on campus must register with Security Services. Vehicle registration is available through your Cascade Web account. Parking permits may be picked up at Security Services Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., one business day after completing the online registration.  On-campus Computing

Are you ready to connect? Learn more about campus network access and download the free anti-virus software provided by Puget Sound on the Techonolgy Services website. For assistance contact the Technology Service Desk at 253.879.8585 or servicedesk@pugetsound.edu.

Working on Campus

If you will be working on campus, don't forget to pack your documents! Bring an original document of identification (passport, Social Security card, birth certificate, or other acceptable document). With this in hand, visit the Work-Study Employment Table on check-in day to complete the Federal I-9 and W-4 forms. To set up direct deposit of your paychecks, you’ll need to bring routing and account numbers from your financial institution.

Accessibility & Accommodation

Students with disabilities may receive support service through the coordinator of Student Accessibility and Accommodation, located in the Center for Writing, Learning, and Teaching, in Howarth Hall. Services are provided on an individual and confidential basis, as is appropriate.

To receive support services, a student must declare a disability, provide documentation, and request service. For further information contact Student Accessibility and Accommodation at 253.879.3399 or saa@pugetsound.edu.

This voluntary self-identification allows Puget Sound to analyze support services needed to facilitate your learning. This information will be kept in strict confidence and has no effect on your enrollment at the college.

Puget Sound Traditions

Orientation is just the beginning of many Puget Sound events and activities involving students, faculty, staff, and neighbors. All students are encouraged to learn about and embrace the college’s history by participating in our official (and unofficial) traditions, some of which date back decades.
