International Student & Scholar Advisor (PDSO/RO)
Master of Science in Counseling & Guidance, California Lutheran University; Joined the OIP Team in September 2022 (joined the University of Puget Sound in October 2019); Focus: Non-immigrant visa (J-1 & F-1) processes and policies. "My father immigrated to the U.S. from Hamburg, Germany when he was in elementary school, and my mother spent the majority of her childhood living abroad (including Yokohama, Japan and Bogota, Columbia) due to my grandfather's military service. International travel, and an awareness of immigrant/expat experiences, has therefore been a central focus of my life. As a young adult, I lived and worked at an American International School in La Paz, Bolivia. This experience resulted in greater empathy for the journey that non-immigrants/expats navigate, particularly with regard to government policies and procedures. In my current role, I aim to be a source of support and efficiency as our incoming international students and scholars navigate similar processes, removing as many sources of stress as possible as they prepare for their time at the University of Puget Sound."
