Our purpose is to promote the physical therapy profession through education, experience and community involvement. We provide opportunities for personal growth, charity, and leadership through active participation in SPTA. We coordinate and sponsor service learning opportunities to build relationships with the community and fulfill an annual service learning academic requirement as set forth by the UPS Doctor of Physical Therapy Graduate Program. We assist with funding for the presentation of research at national professional conferences and plan and sponsor events and speakers that promote networking and career opportunities.

We are a resource for current and incoming students and work to enrich the graduate school experience at University of Puget Sound. Read below for upcoming events and programs and see how you can be involved with SPTA and support physical therapy research and community outreach programs!

Fundraising for Research and Global Perspectives PT Outreach

SPTA offers scholarships each year for students to present innovative physical therapy research at regional and national research conferences and travel with the Global Perspectives to offer PT services in Guatemala. The funds for these scholarships are raised through fundraising events put on by SPTA. If you would like to donate to the fund or support our fundraising events to help further PT research and assist students in taking their PT skills to those in need, please contact us with the email below.
