Academic Advising
Please consult the Academic Advising website for the latest information. Advisor approval is not required for continuing students to register for Summer Term courses. Students transferring to the university should contact the Academic Advising office at 253-879-3250 or academicadvising@pugetsound.edu to discuss appropriate courses. Students taking classes as visitors or non-degree candidates may discuss their plans with the office but are not required to do so.
Bookstore
The Logger Store, located in the lower level of the Wheelock Student Center, stocks required course materials (unless otherwise indicated by a course's syllabus) and a range of other supplies and materials helpful for student success. Please check the store's website for hours of operation, which can vary over the summer.
Center for Writing and Learning
The Center for Writing and Learning helps students from all academic disciplines develop their ability to use writing as a tool for thinking and learning. With the assistance of CWL faculty and staff, students learn how to overcome writer's block, approach an assignment, and assess the audience and purpose of a paper. Working on a one-to-one basis, students also receive help with organizing their ideas, writing a strong thesis statement, and reviewing their written work to make it clear, direct, and persuasive.
The Center is located in Howarth Hall, Room 105. Our peer tutors do not work during the summer term, meaning our services and office hours are more limited. However, we are able to offer writing appointments on request during much of the summer term. We encourage you to get in touch with us in advance if you anticipate needing a reader for an essay during the summer term. Accessibility and Accommodations

Information Center
The Information Center is located on the main floor of the Wheelock Student Center, adjacent to Diversions Café. Please check their website for hours of operation and closure dates. Occasional closures will occur during the summer when no conferences are in session. Campus and community information is available at the Information Center, as well as campus maps. Library
Collins Memorial Library is an integral part of the university's educational program. Its collection and services support study and research on campus. Collins Memorial Library balances traditional library services and resources with new and ever-expanding digital collections and electronic databases. The print collection consists of over 425,000 volumes of books, periodicals, and publications of the federal and Washington state governments as well as maps, microforms, and a range of digital media materials. In addition, the library provides access to a significant number of databases, many that provide full text access to over books and periodicals. The library maintains special collections of books, manuscripts and the university's archives.
Librarians provide course and research guides designed for specific departments and assignments that provide detailed information on key research databases, journals, reference books and research strategies. Staff also provide assistance with reference, research, and the location of materials through individual appointments, email, and classroom instruction. When librarians are not available, the library provides 24/7 assistance with "Ask a Librarian," an online service allowing users to get immediate help from librarians across the country. A computer lab is located in the Library Learning Commons. The Technology Service Desk is located on the lower level of the library and provides assistance with computer and media related needs.
Collins Memorial Library sponsors events to engage students, faculty, and the broader community. You can follow events and programs sponsored by the Library via Facebook or Twitter. The Library's blog, Collins Unbound, is continuously updated to provide information on new services and programs, research tips and recent acquisitions.

Parking
Parking permits are not required for parking on campus during the Summer Term. Students may park in any of the lots, as the parking lot designation system does not apply during the Summer Term. However, parking in disabled spaces, fire/impound lanes, non-designated spaces, and Jones Circle, which is reserved exclusively for visitors, is prohibited, and citations are issued for these infractions.
Recreation
The University of Puget Sound has excellent recreational facilities: outdoor track, swimming pool, racquetball court, fitness center, indoor tennis courts, and gymnasium facilities. Explore the Outdoors
Puget Sound summers offer many unique outdoor opportunities and there are resources on campus to help you get started! The Expeditionary rents outdoor equipment, including tents, backpacks, and much more, available for reasonable rates. Puget Sound Outdoors can also help you get outside.
Technology Services
The Technology Center, located in in the lower level of Collins Memorial Library, is a full-service technology service center. Consult the Student Technology Resources page for up to date information on technology resources available for students.
