Greater, We Ascend: The Campaign for University of Puget Sound

Since our founding in 1888, University of Puget Sound has been home to a diverse community of talented individuals who challenge themselves to experience new perspectives and to discover new knowledge. We are, all of us, teachers and students, dreamers and doers, leaders and explorers. It is not our storied history that defines us; it is our community.

Over decades of growth and reinvention, we’ve developed a unique approach to liberal arts and sciences education that has endured through the strength of our shared purpose: to unlock the fullest potential of each member of our community and pursue purpose and impact, challenged and supported every step of the way.

As we look ahead, we are aiming even higher for the next hundred years.

Rise to the Occasion

Through this ambitious fundraising campaign, we aim to raise $150 million using three campaign pillars as a framework to support the initiatives of the Leadership for a Changing World strategic plan. These pillars look to advance educational excellence and our institutional distinction; enrich our learning environment through increased diversity, inclusion, and access; support and inspire our faculty and staff; enhance engagement with our community; promote environmental justice and sustainability; and fully leverage and expand our institutional assets. This will be no small task, but we will rise to the occasion. And when we do, Greater, We Ascend.

The Greater, We Ascend campaign features three pillars that inform every action we take. Each, in turn, supports the others—lifting us to new heights and advancing us toward our aspiration of becoming one of the top 50 liberal arts colleges in the nation.

Immersing students in the real-world application of their studies, experiential learning enhances students' understanding of course material while offering insight into their own skills, interests, and values. As a result, every Puget Sound student graduates with the confidence to collaborate, lead, and make a positive impact in an ever-changing world.

The Puget Sound Fund

Underpinning the Greater, We Ascend campaign is the Puget Sound Fund, our central fundraising effort designed to address critical and emergent needs, and to act as an evergreen wellspring for scholarships, student life, campus enrichment, academic offerings, and overarching community needs. Alongside our campaign funding pillars, the Puget Sound Fund offers a strong foundation of annual support to ongoing institutional priorities. Gifts to the fund directly and meaningfully affect the health and viability of the university and our ability to deliver on our promise to empower Loggers in their pursuit of lives of purpose and impact.
