What is RSA?

The Resident Student Association (RSA) is a student run organization that functions within the Residential Experience department on-campus. This organization’s mission states: “The RSA strives to provide excellent and engaging activities, leadership development, and advocacy opportunities for the residential students of the University of Puget Sound.”

RSA is here to support the development of residential students, provide an outlet for advocacy, and plan great programs and events for residential students to attend and get engaged in their community. This organization is a wonderful way for students to make an impact on their community and make strong connections with their neighbors.

RSA Organization and Structure

The RSA organization is run by the Executive Officers, composed of the RSA President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer roles. These are student leadership positions that are elected each year, and are compensated roles. Generally, returning students are elected into these roles the Spring before their term. Each role has different responsibilities, but they all support the function and running of the organization and General Assembly meetings.

The next part of the RSA are the Resident Leadership Councils (RLCs), more commonly referred to as Hall Councils. These councils are composed of resident students in a hall and they represent the area that they live in at RSA General Assembly meetings. As the primary voting body of RSA, these residents vote on approving funds and help guide the organization.

Events and Collaboration

The RSA is happy to provide funding to events and work with other departments or student clubs/organizations to host events. Please reach out to the RSA Executive team at RSA@pugetsound.edu

Conferences, Regional & National Involvement

While RSA is not affiliated with PACURH or NACURH for the 2022-23 year, we will rejoin in the 2023-24 year. These organizations are the regional (Pacific) and national Associations of College and University Residence Halls. There are two general conferences each year, one in Fall and one in Spring that students can bid to attend with our executive team. More info will be provided at future RSA meetings

Meetings

Fall 2022 – RSA will be hosting General Assembly meetings at 8:00pm on Tuesdays in the Library Rm. 053. (No meetings on Oct. 18, Nov. 22 during Fall Semester)
