Welcome to Puget Sound marketing and communications!

Charged with elevating Puget Sound's visibility and reputation, we represent and promote the college, offering a clear, unified message to the campus community, alumni, and guests.

What We Do

We support campus partners and the future success of the university by making known Puget Sound's distinctions, priorities, and successes within the organization, to prospective students, and to the broader community, including alumni and donors, as well as Tacoma/Pierce County, the Pacific Northwest, the nation, and the world.

We aim to approach every communications project in a collaborative way, keeping in mind Puget Sound's strategic priorities and our partners' goals. As experts, we support you to best represent the college, its story, its mission. If we can help you, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Information isn't engaging by default. How do we pique people's interest? Don't just tell them about our programs; tell the stories of this place.

What do you do when there are too many communications going out to too many audiences? Too much overlap. Too many emails. Too many messages.

You start from the beginning, look at your audiences and their needs, and create a new tool to replace older, less useful ones.

How We Can Help You

The most effective means of communicating involves three key components:

  • Identifying your audience
  • Clearly defining your goals
  • Determining how you’ll know whether you’ve been successful

We can help you get there. Whether you have a special event to promote or are trying increase awareness around your department’s programs and activities, we will brainstorm ideas with you; help develop your goals; produce targeted emails, signage, webpages, and promotional materials; report on and analyze results; and more.

We’re the campus storytellers. We write the text and develop themes for a multitude of projects ranging from video scripts to postcard headlines, from website announcements and press releases to brochure copy and feature stories. If you need words, we got ‘em.

We ensure that communications of all kinds go out into the world telling the Puget Sound story in a clear and cohesive way. How do we do that? Messaging. We can help you align your communications with broader university themes so we’re all talking about Puget Sound the same way.

We can help you write:

  • One-sheets, brochures, and pamphlets
  • Postcard, mailing, and email campaigns
  • Webpage content

Brand Basics: Messaging

We are always looking for ways to showcase the great work of Loggers through long- and short-form stories on our website, in Arches alumni magazine, on social media, in The Hatchet, and elsewhere. These stories help raise awareness about Puget Sound and our programs.

Share your story idea

A strong brand identity increases recognition of, awareness of, and affiliation with an organization. At Puget Sound, we reinforce our brand identity through consistent visuals, including university logos and lockups, an approved color palette, and a specific design language told through photography, type treatments, and standard graphic elements.

Brand Basics: Our Look

Request a logo lockup for your department, office, or program by contacting our design team at design@pugetsound.edu.

Visual reinforcement of our brand identity through the use of consistent logos, colors, fonts, photography, and graphics strengthens the impact of any single communication originating from the university.

Our team can help with:

  • Design and production of print and digital materials, including event posters, fliers, campus screen graphics, and more
  • Photography/Videography for event coverage, photo shoots, faculty/staff portraits, etc.
  • Vault, Puget Sound's online image library
  • Production project management
  • Partnering with vendors

We operate and manage institutional accounts representing the university on numerous platforms and offer guidance, best practices, and assistance to campus groups on launching their own successful social accounts. We often partner with campus accounts on social media campaigns and to amplify or promote special events and messaging.
